About Nityaa Arts Centre

Nityaa Arts Centre was started by Ms.Shubhada Subramanyam with the objective of passing on the Classical Indian Art traditions in their most pristine forms. The aim of the centre is to impart knowledge in Indian Classical dance and related arts with the intention of increasing community participation in multicultural society. Under the guidance of Shubhada Subramanyam, Nityaa Arts Centre has been imparting classical dance education through regular classes in Munich for children and adults. Nityaa Arts Centre also aims to conduct high quality concerts and performances to promote and propagate the rich cultural heritage.

Shubhada Subramanyam began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 under the able guidance of Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy.

With a continuous and regular practice,Shubhada successfully completed all levels – i.e Junior, Senior and Vidwat grade examinations (Master Degree equivalent) conducted by the Government of Karnataka, India.Shubhada is also a scholarship recipient of the Government of Karnataka. Shubhada, who has been associated with her guru and dance for over 35 years, has been performing since childhood and has participated in various dance festivals throughout India and abroad. She has also participated in various dance dramas choreographed by her teacher.

Shubhada gained teaching experience at her Gurus school. In Germany, she continues teaching through Nityaa Arts Centre. In Germany, Shubhada has also been successfully organising exclusive Indian Classical Dance concerts across the year, inviting vetenary artists from India, organising events for travelling artists from abroad, and also providing platform to professionally practicing dancers based in Germany.

In 2024,Shubhada wrote a bilingual book in English and Kannada on the occassion of the 75th Birthday Celebrations of her Guru. The book is relevant for the general public, as much as it is to the students of dance, as it brings about all socio political aspects of practicing and pursuing such an art form. It is a simple read in Q&A format.

Shubhada believes that it is not only the dance, but also many other qualities such as dedication, determination, punctuality, sincerity and the attitude itself have influenced and shaped her through the long-term association with her Guru.

Shubhada hopes to follow  her teacher’s footsteps and achieve higher standards.
